About Us

My cattery name was developed from the Polish name Kasia, which means Cathy in English and is pronounced kah-sha. My Polish grandmother always referred to me as Kasia when talking to my mother about me and I fondly remember this and always took special pride in my Polish name and thus the cattery name Kasiakatz was born.

I got my first Himalayan in 1998, a torti point. Prior to buying this first kitten,  I had seen a flame point in a pet store and fell instantly in love with the blue eyes, white body and vivid orange colored points which I found out later are referred to as red points. I couldn't locate a flame point so settled for the tortie pt which I was informed could produce a flame pt. This started me on the road to get that much sought after flame pt. After using the stud services from a couple of males and still not producing that flame pt, I decided to buy my own flame pt male and was finally able to produce the color that I wanted.

The show bug bit when I produced my first kitten with an extreme face and this baby came from pet quality parents. Then started my quest for show quality breeding stock and from there my cat family grew. I am currently working with pedigrees that contain the following: Playwickey, Prancenpaws, Colesco, Peaceful Paws, Mypaws, Sandypaws, Dymundkut, Demiara, Madame Nu, Petmar, Martinicki, Kittystone, Diwood, Stanwick, Alomi, Sassipurrs, just to name a few. My breeding stock produce kittens with unforgettable pretty faces even the doll faced kittens are exceptional. My Persians and Himalayans produce solid colors of red, black, blue, cream, tortoiseshell and blue cream kittens and pointed colors in seal, blue, red, cream, torti and blue cream.

I have kept my cattery small basically because I don't have a lot of room but also because this allows me to give each cat the individual attention that they need and deserve. My cattery  is located in upstate New York in the picturesque town of Croghan, which is famous for its' ring bologna, home made chocolate candy and maple museum. You will find several other interesting stores to browse through and maybe make a purchase or two. Every time I turn around someone is coming up with a new venture in the area, so be on the look out for some eye opening experiences like say Alpacas being raised just a couple miles from our cattery!

My cats are CFA registered Himalayans and CPC Persians. They are FelV & FIV negative, PKD, DNA tested and all negative, ringworm and parasite free. All kittens come with a one year health guarantee, two distemper shots starting at eight  weeks of age and the last is given at twelve weeks and checked for worms.  I am an advocate of early spaying and neutering and all pet quality kittens are spay/neutered before leaving the cattery at twelve weeks of age. For more information on early spay/neuter, please check out my information page on this subject and also check out the page on "Adoption at 12 Weeks" for important reasons for waiting until a kittens' 12th week to go to its' new home, both are located  on the "Info Page". I feed and recommend Iams kitten and cat foods and  also recommend Eagle Pack cat foods. All kittens come with a kitten kit. My adult cats and kittens are raised underfoot and are well socialized as they are played with and loved by myself, husband and son. I also recommend and use Eye Envy products  and also use Jerob Grooming Products (click on this link  "Info Page" to view information on the products that I use.)

I am a member of the Salt City Cat Club in Syracuse, New York. We hold our annual show the last full weekend in September.  I also am a member of  the Atlantic Himalayan Club.
